For three generations, Whistlewood, the McCullochs' home gallery
overlooking Westernport Bay on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula,
has hosted some of the most famous names of the Australian and
international arts world. This 1870s cottage features art, books,
memorabilia and the studio of the legendary critic Alan McCulloch,
which he and Arthur Boyd designed and built in 1952. Today, this
historic house is augmented by an ever-changing array of art –
largely the magnificent art identified by Susan McCulloch and
Emily McCulloch Childs on their regular trips to Indigenous
communities across Australia.
It provides the perfect setting for exhibitions,
talks and private viewings.
You are invited to contact us by phone or join our mailing list online
to be notified of events at Whistlewood – and, of course, you are
encouraged to make an appointment for private viewings.
